During this program, the participant will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge on Coastal and Marine Environments of the Osa Peninsula. This will be possible through experiential activities, field and laboratory work, as well as programmed lectures with the purpose to reinforce the learning process.
12 Days Program Program Price $ 1500.00
At the same time, in order to make the student understand the relationship between tourism and sustainable development, this program will include activities with local communities that support and strengthen rural and community tourism, showing them how it is possible to have a way of living without over-exploiting the natural, social and cultural resources.
Recommended Gear
Lightweight, comfortable hiking or walking shoes (waterproof is preferable).
Water shoes (such as Tevas, Crocs or Keens)
Sports socks that go up to your knees (this is to make sure you don’t get a rash when wearing our rubber boots on the rainforest hikes).
Sunscreen (30 factor at least) and Insect repellent
Flashlight, head lamp is very useful in the hikes. When possible, please pack only Panasonic batteries, as these are the only brand of batteries that can be recycled in Costa Rica.
Light raincoat when visiting us during the rainier months.

Diary or small notebook
Plastic bags for your clothes to bring in the rain forest. You can take small ziplock´s also for camera´s and documents.
Bottle of water (1 or 2 Nalgene bottles).

Day 1
Arrival to San Jose, Costa Rica. Transfer to hotel (lunch or dinner according to flight schedule).
Day 2
08:00 AM Introduction of Neotropica Foundation and general information about the trip.
10:30 AM Transfer to Center of Studies and Community Empowerment Alvaro Wille Trejos (CEEC-AWT) (Lunch box included)
05:30 PM Arrival to the Center, time to get accommodated and refreshed from the trip.

07:30 PM Introduction to the Program and time to meet the Environmental Educator, Precautions at the Tropical rainforest.
